expert systemtechnik gmbh was founded in October 1994 in the basement of Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Bruder’s house together with two CAD/CAM developers. Today, 25 years on, his two sons Sebastian Bruder and Manuel Bruder are continuing to run this family business as managing directors. The company motto has remained the same from the very beginning. Thinking, combining and connecting in a different way The two employees from those early days still work for the company as well!

From the beginning expert has consisted of a combination of special mechanical engineering and a systems house. We believe that this combination offers our customers the greatest possible benefits and reliability.

We offer everything from one single source - plug-and-cut solutions. We design, develop, construct, instal, commission and maintain your machines. We either have suitable software for your cutting in our range or we develop it according to your requirements and needs. Together with you.

About us - the development of expert systemtechnik
expert has developed into a multi-technology supplier for customer-specific cutting solutions.

expert systemtechnik was founded in 1994 by Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Bruder together with two experienced CAD-/CAM developers who had over 30 years of experience in the field of waterjet cutting technology. expert systemtechnik is based in Bielefeld in East Westphalia, traditionally an economic region with a strong mechanical-engineering bias.

With Wolfgang Bruder at the helm, expert systemtechnik has been developing, producing and installing innovative CAD/CAM cutting systems with waterjet technology (without the use of abrasives) plus the appropriate equipment for preliminary scanning and nesting operations.

expert systemtechnik taps into new customer groups

The first customers came from the upholstered furniture industry. Here, expert systemtechnik was able to replace the still common practice of cutting leather by hand with a precise cutting alternative, using its cutting machines. And consequently helped its customers to achieve higher productivity.
The sphere of customers soon expanded to include other sectors involved in leather processing, including the automotive supply industry and the aeronautics sector.
With the development of a cutting system for technical materials in 2004, expert systemtechnik succeeded in acquiring customers from areas of the plastics and packaging industries.
In the meantime, over 400 Expert systems have been installed worldwide.

Further development of cutting technologies

Over the years, expert systemtechnik has further developed the technique of waterjet cutting without abrasives, so that it can supply its customers with cutting systems on a modular basis which fulfil individual customer requirements in all respects.

The development of a single-layer cutter in 2010 has put expert in a position to provide its customers with an additional cutting system which offers good value for money.

Leap forward into new technologies - artificial intelligence

At the start of 2019 the first automatic scan and digitise system was ready for market launch and presented at SIMAC Tanning Tech.
Following almost 8 years of research and development, the system is a genuine quantum leap in quality inspection of hides.

With this system, expert systemtechnik has moved on from being a leather cutting supplier for the upholstered furniture industry to become a multi-technology supplier for cutting systems which are used in a broad range of industries.
